What is Direct Cremation?

Direct cremation offers a simple and respectful alternative to traditional funerals. With no ceremonial services, it allows families to honour their loved ones in their own way and time. This option is affordable, straightforward, and handled with the utmost care by our professional team at Parkgrove Funeral Directors. As we are owned by Parkgrove Crematorium, all our Direct Cremations take place here, in the heart of Angus.

What’s Included

  • ✔ Collection of the deceased from the place of death, within a 25 mile radius*.
  • ✔ Care and preparation of your loved one before cremation.
  • ✔ A simple, dignified coffin.
  • ✔ All necessary paperwork and legal documentation.
  • ✔ Transportation to the crematorium.
  • ✔ The cremation itself.
  • ✔ Ashes returned in a scatter tube (if desired).

* Additional mileage may be charged if over 25 miles.

What’s Not Included

  • ✖ Viewing or visitation services at our premises.
  • ✖ A formal funeral ceremony or service.
  • ✖ Flowers, obituary notices, or printed materials.
  • ✖ Additional transport for family members.
  • ✖ Embalming or cosmetic preparation.
  • ✖ Scattering of ashes or interment.
  • ✖ Any additional travel beyond 25 miles (extra mileage fees may apply).
