When my Mum passed away, I had absolutely no idea what to do in regards to organising her funeral.

I knew of Parkgrove Crematorium previously however discovered that the Funeral Director service was new.

From first contact, Chris was compassionate, understanding and informative.  He pointed me in the right direction on what to do and made the process so much easier to deal with.

When we first met to talk through the service, Chris' warm and pleasant demeanour put me at ease straight away.  All aspects of the funeral were discussed and put in place with no problems.

When my brother died at the end of June, we had no hesitation in contacting Parkgrove due to its peaceful, quiet country setting. It was the ideal place for my brother to be cremated.

We also decided to contact Chris Simpson at Parkgrove and asked him to act as our Funeral Director. My initial conversation with Chris was via a telephone call, because I was out of the country. Chris explained the whole process with clarity, reassured me that he would take care of everything and that we had nothing to be concerned about. This put my mind at rest and gave me the confidence that everything would be dealt with in a timely manner.

Chris promptly collected my brother from Ninewells Hospital and took good care of him at Parkgrove.

On returning to Scotland, I met up with Chris to discuss the details of the Order of Service, flowers, music, type of coffin, use of the hearse and the cremation arrangements. Chris was very professional, sensitive and compassionate.

Chris quickly and professionally organised matters so that everything would be in place for my brother’s cremation and so that family and friends would be proud of the service and arrangements.

On the day of the cremation, Chris and his team worked together to ensure everything ran smoothly with no hiccups. Even using their initiative by placing a number plate which has real significance, in the back of the hearse as they drove my brother through the country roads to Parkgrove. On seeing the number plate in the back of the hearse, my brother’s seven children were overwhelmed by the touching gesture.

After the funeral service the whole family spoke highly of Chris and his team for organising and managing my brother’s cremation in such a professional and sensitive way.
